Are Southerners less friendly than northerners

It seems that the North West region of the UK produces some of the best buddies in the country, according to Just Eat’s survey.

Some 88% of Manchester residents said they had never fallen out with their close friends, and came second in a poll for the city with the best mates in the UK.

Overall, cities in the North lead the way, with Leeds taking the top position. A total of 92% in the West Yorkshire city said they had never argued with their friends while Liverpool reached third with 84%.

The seventh and eight position went to Burnley and Blackburn respectively with 63% and 59%.

1500 people plus, responded to questions about the number of times friends would offer support such as financial in difficult circumstances? and if you were stranded without any money, would your friends come to your aid.

More than three fifths, 63%, of people from Leeds said they thought their friends would help them out if they needed a loan, compared to people in London, where just 19% thought their friends would. Many people in the North enjoy eating together, and good Chinese takeaways often top of their list. Indian food has always been popular in the north, particularly in Manchester.

Northern cities, according to research, made the top 10 cities, whereas only Southampton made it from the south.

When asked the question, Would you prefer to spend time with your friends over your partner? Just 13% of southerners said they would do this, compared with 42% of people from up north.

Just Eat are a nationwide specialist in takeaway food and have an excellent number of Leeds takeaways to choose from.
