The Best Isle of Wight places to visit

The Isle of Wight is an excellent destination for everyone from honeymooning couples to families just on the lookout for a great time. The scenery is lovely, and their is plenty of history to absorb, and lots to remember on the Isle of Wight. The following are just 5 of the many great things you can do while visiting this beautiful place.

1. The steam railway on the Isle of Wight has a world famous reputation. Run by volunteers, this is a popular attraction for tourists of all ages. It is not much of a surprise as here you can see a true blue steam locomotive. If you wish to experience the beauty of the island, then I recommend a trip on the railway.

2. Go to Ryde Castle and see the interesting architecture, which is thought to have been the idea of Henry VIII. The main purpose of the castle was to act as a barrier against a Spanish Invasion.

3. Dinosaur Isle is a venue that should not be missed if you enjoy looking back though a window in time. In the world of Paleontology, this museum is one of the best known throughout the world. The museum is a Paeleontologist’s dream – with mass appeal to both adults and kids alike. Opened in 2001, it claims to be the first custom museum of its type anywhere in the Britain.

4. One of the best places to visit for relaxation is Shanklin Chine, near to the Old Village of Shanklin. Many tranquil moments are guaranteed in this special place on the island. Rare varieties of vegetation and wildlife can be seen here, and the waterfall is not to be missed.

5. The island also has a famous speedway team called the Islanders, which gets great support not only from the locals, but also from fans on the mainland. Every single year, thousands of car and race enthusiasts stop here to see some stunning action.
