  2. mauronaranjo says:

@vulgay Its kind of confusing that for english speakers, but it’s easy to understand: ser, ( soy, es, somos, son) its when you are reffering to “Who you are as a person”. For “Estar (estoy, está, estamos, están) its used when you are reffering to places or mood. For ex. Where are you? ¿dónde estás? answer: Yo estoy en Bogotá. How are you? ¿cómo estás? Yo estoy feliz. I am happy. Remember: Estar for places or mood, feelings etc, and Ser: For being or become.

  3. luinkazofeifa says:

Hi, the translation for IT, is Eso, right?

  4. gabo262 says:

Yes, it exists a word to say ”a” it is ”un”
    Example:
I am a student – Yo soy un estudiante

But if you’re a girl you must say ”una”
    Example:
I am a student (female student) – Yo soy una estudiante

  5. macroeconomia77 says:

@vulgay in Spanish the verve to be have two signification, the conjugation to the verve estar is refers to some place ¿where are you?-Yo estoy, and conjugation to the verve ser Is to refers to the be the person, ¿who are yo?-yo soy

  6. macroeconomia77 says:

@vulgay its ok if you say tu estás bien but not tu eres bien. The sentence tu estas bien you can sue to answer ¿how am I? (if some person asks to you) But the sentence tu eres bien its not ok, in any case is tu eres bueno to refer if its a good person

  7. g62501 says:

Ser is for permanent conditions and estoy is for transient conditions.

I am Sam is pretty permanent. I am hot or happy are transient conditions Use ser in the first situation and estoy in the second situation.

  8. shambayati195 says:

once again u said that the vosotros form of estar is the same as the Uds.

    its not. its vosotros estáis

  9. luisfern777 says:

hey, my friend… the difference is that “ser” refeers, for exampe, who are you, or what is your occupation… “I am a doctor” in spanish “Yo soy doctor”. And “estar” refeers, for example, a place: “I am in New York” in Spanish “Yo ESTOY en Nueva York” or it can refeer, also, how are you… “I am fine”… “Yo ESTOY bien”
And to answer your question, you can NEVER say “Tú eres bien”, you must say “Tú estás bien” and so with the pronouns and their respective conjugations…

  10. vulgay says:

    sorry another question!

‘you are good’ in spanish is ‘Tu estas bien’ but can it be ‘Tu eres bien’ ? arent they the same? like they are both ‘ you are’ ?
whats the difference between ‘estas’ and eres’, ‘esta’ and ‘es’, ‘somos’ and ‘estamos’, ‘son’ and ‘estan’ please help! i’m really confused!

  11. vulgay says:

    help! i dont get it!

    1. what is ser and estar? is ser like: am, are, is while estar is: i am being, she is being, they are being? (in a place)

Nop. Write it as you want, “Yo” or “yo”, no problem.
The article “a” in spanish means: Un/una:
I´m A student = Yo soy UN estudiante.
    I´m student = Soy estudiante.

  22. formica8 says:

hi people, i m italian i trying to learn spanish. my first question is: in spanish, are we obliged to write “Yo” with the Y big or we can alzo write “yo”. and another question: when i say “i am a student” we use the article “a”. does we have to use the article also in spanish or not?
    thank you

  23. kaosmiau says:

That’s an easy explanation.. but.. There are lots of cases.. you can use “ser” and “estar” It isn’t always like that..

In general it’s like that.. :P

Good job anyway cuz it’s the best I saw.. hehe

  24. mallfreak says:

to make it easier, i always learned “how you feel and where you are, that is when you use estar”
    it really helps me

  25. xevilhunter88 says:

yo soy de aquí = I am from here
yo estoy en la casa = I am in the house
basically estar is for places and temporary situations
