LOL. It may not be required, but if you want to be a poor teacher, be my guest. A true command of the subject matter is essential for any teacher, to suggest otherwise is absurd. What really are you ‘teaching’ if you cant communicate effectively? This goes for any subject at any level… I have had math teachers who didn’t fully understand math try to teach…. after they were fired and replaced by a competent teacher, the difference was obvious. To teach uneducated seems brazen.
Not true, many people go to japan and korea to teach english and it isn’t required that you speak the native language to teach there. I’m considering it.
I believe a command of English is in order before you start teaching bi-lingual education. You mis-spelled MonTHLY (Montly), probably since you pronounce it wrong. You local community college, ESL courses are your friend.
